The Lernaean Hydra is one of our favourite creatures within the classical mythology.
The Hydra was a gigantic creature, like a serpent with multiple heads, when one the heads was chopped off, two or three heads grew up from the wound – the symbology and the metaphor is very interesting and we can see this as model of life.
To kill the Hydra was one of the twelve labours of Hercules, that was the story that introduced us to this fantastic creature.
Nowadays there are various cases we can label as the Hydra Effects -“…used figuratively for counter-intuitive effects of actions to reduce a problem which result in stimulating its multiplication”, for instance in ecological systems when “…a higher death rate in a particular species ultimately increases the size of its population”.
We also observe the effect in torrent websites, when one is wiped down and three or more are replacing the “dead” one.
Sometimes they use the term “hydra effect” for some events within “The War on Drugs”.
This design is showing the multiplication of the self. We see a skull growing from the one below and transmits us the idea of growing stronger.
That idea is emphasised by the triangle behind the figures.
At the top “OMNIA” means “everything” and 360 shows us a complete circle – the perfection.
We actually can see that the triangle is driving us towards that direction – our goals.
Therefore, “the Hydra Effect” is generally a view of hope and motivation.
