Dying God and Rebirth

Category : ,

Date : 2015

This design is a tribute to all deities who died and reborn-  Osiris, Adonis, Jesus Christ, Quetzalcoatl, Attis, etc.

We created a sort of a fusion of all of them, finding a cyclic shape, many times associated to Ouroboros imagery and the sequencial motion of the Universe.

Carl Jung defended an archetype of death and resurrection as part of a transpersonal symbolism of the collective unconscious and can be used in psychological integration tasks.
From a symbolic perspective we wanted to speak essentially of the human nature and psychology, as a metaphor of transformation, as the end of a phase.
Like in the Tarot, the Death can also be Rebirth, a concept related to the theory of spiritual cleansing.
A concrete example is the metamorphosis of the caterpillar, that “dies” as a caterpillar to be reborn as a butterfly.
